Meet... K&T by King & Tuckfield
Founder Stacey Wood’s King & Tuckfield pays homage to her grandmother, Joan Marion King - a ballet dancer, and her father Graham Aubrey Tuckfield - a soldier in the Second World War. Launched in 2016, Wood creates clothes that celebrate the human connection between clothes and the wearer.
Durability is a through-line in Wood’s collections as her designs celebrate and update the genderless shapes and clean silhouettes of the 1950s. Knits are woven from merino wool, while jeans are crafted in premium denim made in Walthamstow where her grandmother grew up.
King & Tuckfield’s exacting principles can be seen in its inaugural collection for Label/Mix in the denim jumpsuit and jeans crafted from cotton that uses 80% less water than in the standard dying process, and the meticulously cut check coat and gingham wide-leg trousers.
