Meet... Mix/Natasha Zinko, the designer who puts the fun into fashion

Larger than life may be a cliché, but we can’t think of more apt words for flame-haired designer Natasha Zinko, whose designs are as personality-filled as herself. Starting out with a jewellery line in 2011, she segued into clothing after friends started asking her to create bespoke pieces for them, eventually debuting at London Fashion Week in 2015. And to think that she originally studied law in her native Ukraine.

Minimalists, look away now – Zinko’s ultra-feminine, fun designs are big on print, colour and volume. Folkloric florals, ruffles and clashing patterns recur, while silhouettes are languid and loose – the long-sleeved floral dress she’s designed for Label/Mix is a signature piece.

"I often take very classical fabrics and throw them in the washing machine, then in the dryer to destroy them, then recreate them in a new way"

For Zinko’s first collaboration with Label/Mix, she’s honed in on two prints – an oversized monochrome polka-dot and a digital floral – across five designs. Super-stylist Kate Foley has already picked out the spot midi-dress as one of her key buys, and we second that. We also love the floral frilled top and matching skirt for party season teamed together, and beyond as separates.
