EDITOR’S PICK

Half-term hits

14 February 2019

Kidswear editor Maggie Davis on the key new pieces to revamp this kids’ wardrobes this spring.

I don’t know about you but for me, February half term signifies the beginning of spring. The days get a little longer and brighter and the cold and dreariness of winter suddenly starts to evaporate. OK, so it might still be a little chilly outside but somehow the thought of warmer days ahead lifts everyone’s mood. I always get the urge to inject a little colour into my children’s wardrobes at this time of year whether it’s through the introduction of a bright new pair of wellies, raincoat or sweater.

This year, I love these metallic rainbow trainers, this padded purple jacket by Mintie and this striped floral dress for girls. I’m also mad about the new kids’ range from Clarks which includes these raspberry-coloured patent Mary Janes – a zingy modern twist on a classic. For boys, this bright new gilet, retro rainbow hoodie or our bestselling stretch twill trousers (in bright new hues including ochre, petrol blue and zesty orange) will add an element of fun to any outfit. A few well-picked purchases will see them through spring, summer and beyond. Happy days.
