28 November 2018

Save yourself a potential last-minute fiasco and read up on what wrapping paper to buy this year, and how to make your gifts look great with some handy pointers.

From traditional to contemporary, restrained to humorous, the wrapping paper you pick can say a lot about both you and the person you’re giving to. You have probably put considerable effort into picking the present and now need to shop for the trendiest and most stylish papers on the market. We’ve got you covered, plus we also have a great selection of those all-important extra finishing touches, details that will give your gift that extra sparkle.

Classic wrap
Go classic and embellish presents with a red-and-white wrap-theme. Santa, penguin, elf, reindeer and snowman motifs are all acceptable prints, and when it comes to the details complete the look with a mixture of our bright red gift accessories and tags.

Five tips for successful wrapping…

1. Measure up and organise first

Clear a table top or flat work surface area before you start wrapping. Lay your scissors, sticky tape, and wrapping gear out and make sure you have everything you will need to wrap before you start – because it’s all about getting into the ‘wrapping zone’, and once you’re in it, nothing should stand in your way of getting everything wrapped.

2. Tags and ribbons

Pre-buy lots of tags, decorations and ribbons to embellish the presents you’re giving. Honestly, you can never have too many and there’s nothing more annoying than running out mid-wrapping session. A maximalist approach never fails, so consider adding more than just the one ribbon, bow or tag to a gift so it doesn’t look scrimped.

3. Use a good-quality pen

Don’t just grab a ballpoint pen or pencil, use Christmas as an opportunity to show off your best handwriting and finish your gift tags with some quality calligraphy.

4. Consider cost

If you’re decorating gifts on a budget then consider wrapping small presents with the more expensive paper that you’ve bought, and larger ones in cheaper paper.

5. Time for tinsel?

Love it or loathe it, one of the most acceptable places to pop some tinsel is on a gift. It’s got cool kitsch credentials and packs fun-factor.

Personalise it!

Make your gift-packing even more attractive with wrapping paper that you can personalise.
