It had nothing to do with the quality of the product, it was the way it was packaged. Which meant that it was damaged. Unfortunately, the polystyrene and flimsy cardboard box wasn’t enough to prevent the glass bulb cover from getting smashed

This item was exactly what I had been looking for for my cosy reading nook. However, when it was fully assembled the reading light came in automatically when the plug was live and was not able to turn off via the knob. When brightness was turned all the way up, the light made a horrible buzzing noise. Trying different sockets and brands of bulb did not make a difference.On the large light, the manufacturing was faulty to the point where the bulb actually couldn’t fit— it was only off by about 2mm but that made it impossible for the bulb to push in and slide down at the right angle.Next was helpful to give a full refund, but this lamp was so poorly manufactured and faulty that I have to advise anyone against purchasing. Don’t waste your time.

When my order was delivered, it was clear that it had already been opened as some of the smaller items were not sealed and the packing fell apart when moved. The replacement order looked just the same. Because the light looked undamaged I I took the risk of asking my son to put it together for me. It proved to be difficult but he managed to put all the parts together eventually. This difficulty could be why the items were returned.
The light looks lovely but I still have to fit the bulbs in place. The three stars reflect the difficulties in assembling the light.
